It is a variable speed design (nice); from 100 to 3800 rpm with an emergency shut off button plus a chip guard. The swing over the bed is 4.4 inches vs 3.6 inches for the Unimat. The whole machine is much beefier: 36 lbs. Vs 16, for a more solid flavor. Also, the classic, zero set, wasp handles give the lathe a more precise feel.
The head stock and the tail stock are both made out of steel iron? The red tail stock, with black tool-less handles, is adjustable for tapered turnings and will give you dead-on alignment with the head stock.
Both head stock and tail stock spindles are 14 X 1mm so they can use all Unimat accessories. The OXA-250 quick change tool holder is also heavy steel with a T-bar mount for extended positions. This lathe is set up for metric measurements, but also included are the main lead screw and cross-slide screw for English (inch) conversion. Three stock handles and cap nuts are included if you want to swap out the wasps.
As the pics show, all the many attachments are pretty much new. It's doubtful that you can find all this anywhere. Message me if any questions.
