Vintage Super Adept Model Jeweller Watch Maker Mini Lathe Metal Wood Turning
A vintage Super Adept lathe for model, jewellers and watch makers. British Made, the lathe is perfect for fine detail work on small parts. Would be driven by a separate motor. The lathe was manufactured by F. Portass at their "Abbeydale Works" in Sheffield. The lathe first appeared in 1933 and remained in production for almost 3 decades.
Primarily aimed at modellers and model engineers, these lathes were for many an entry into the world of turning and indeed continue to find similar enthusiasm. At around 13" in length and with a swing of 1 5/8" (3 ΒΌ diameter) these lathes are very compact which makes them ideal for use where space is limited. Generally very good condition, with a cutting tool fitted.
